Beaver County Notice of Public Hearing

Beaver County Council is considering the following:

  1. Bylaw 21-1107 - an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw to redistrict a portion of SE 24-50-20-W4 from Agricultural District - A to Country Residential District - CR so that a residential acreage (approximately 20 acres) can be created;

  1. Waivers of the Municipal Development Plan to:
    1. remove the requirement for a professionally-prepared Conceptual Scheme and bio-physical assessment (for this acreage only);
    2. remove requirement for a public meeting to present the Conceptual Scheme and bio-physical assessment to adjacent landowners (for this acreage only).

County Council has scheduled a public hearing to hear arguments for and against the proposed amendment and waivers.  The public hearing will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Government of Alberta has enacted the Meeting Procedures (COVID-19 Suppression) Regulation pursuant to Order in Council 50/2020 to permit the hearing to be conducted electronically rather than in person.

The hearing has been structured so that all who wish to participate will have the right to hear all discussions and speak for or against the proposed amendment and waivers.  For information regarding the public participation process and how to provide input on this matter, click here.
