2018 Beaver County Road Construction

Township Road 492 Being Upgraded

Over the next few weeks, Township Road 492 from Highway 834 to Range Road 181 will be upgraded from a graveled road to an all-weather hard surfaced road. This involves stabilizing the road base with soil cement before applying two coats of “chip seal”. While this process is much different from the process of paving a road with asphalt, the end result will seem similar to residents and the travelling public this will result in a road that is not dusty when it is dry, nor muddy when it is wet.

During this time, the road at times may be closed to allow crews to work safely; however, access for local landowners will be maintained during construction. We encourage patrons of Coal Creek Golf Course, Buzzard Gulch Campground and Black Nugget Lake Campground to take alternate routes. These routes are Township Roads 494 or 490 from Highway 834, or Range Road 182 from Highway 14.

There are potential hazards to the public and vehicles during the construction process. This can include heavy machinery, dust or mud, road materials such as gravel, asphalt coatings and rock chips.

Please be advised the speed limit is 50 km/h while posted.
