Tofield Bypass

Upon completion of the new rail crossing on Secondary Highway 834, Alberta Transportation and CN Rail found that the grade of the new crossing may cause a clearance issue for drivers hauling longer trailers or low clearance vehicles.
Alberta Transportation and CN Rail have implemented a temporary fix, however a permanent solution is being investigated and will be implemented in the Spring.
The speed limit on Secondary Highway 834 near the rail crossing has been lowered to 30 km/hr and drivers are asked to cross with caution or use an alternate route.
