Nursing - Post-secondary Pathways

Posted on

What’s this all about?

Are you a rural Alberta high school student living in Central or Southern Alberta, interested in a helping profession or working in a health career after high school? Could a rural nursing career be in your future? Join us for an interactive, virtual conversation with post-secondary institutions and current students to explore the path to nursing careers (HCA/LPN/RN) in rural Alberta.

When?
Date: Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024
Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Who will be there?
Instructors and faculty from Lethbridge College, Medicine Hat College, and Red Deer Polytechnic, as well as students currently studying in these programs who can share first-hand experiences with you and why they are considering rural practice in their future!

Who can attend?

  • Parents/teachers/school counsellors/division reps from schools in rural communities
  • Rural students in Grades 9 – 12

What will I learn about?

  • The difference between various nursing professions
  • What post-secondary institutions are near me and what programs are available
  • How to start preparing now for a future college/university application
  • What rural nursing could offer
  • … and bring your questions for a Q&A at the end!

How can I register?

How Do I Get There? - Nursing - Post-secondary Pathways Registration,
Wed, 28 Feb 2024 at 6:00 PM | Eventbrite

What should I do if registration is full?
Don’t worry – there's room for you! If this happens, ensure you add yourself to the waiting list. While the Eventbrite registration capacity is limited, they can accommodate up to 500 people on the event and a Zoom link will be sent directly to the e-mail provided on the waiting list if they “sell out” on Eventbrite.

Will this session be recorded?
These sessions are recorded (any student names or pictures will be edited out before sharing and only the speakers will be visible). This being said, the recording may not be immediately available and this is your best opportunity to come ask your questions in person and get this great information right away.
