Campground Guidelines

On May 6, 2020 Beaver County Council made the decision to open Beaver County’s campgrounds on June 1, 2020 based on recommendations established for Provincial campgrounds by the Province of Alberta and Alberta Health Services

These recommendations include:

  • Only up to 50% capacity, every other site is closed
  • Only one unit per site, & you are confined to your site, no visiting other campers in other sites.
  • No group camping, single site usage
  • No out of province campers.
  • No fires, no wood sales, propane fires are permitted.
  • No Playgrounds opened, basketball, volleyball or tetherball
  • No benches, picnic shelters to be used, or change rooms at Camp Lake.
  • No showers
  • One person at a time allowed into concession or those belonging to the same family.
  • All picnic tables in sites to be sanitized after each use.
  • Boat launch is open but only people from the same family allowed into the boat.
  • Beach is closed, docks will be removed and relocated, buoys will remain out of the water.
  • Gates locked at night.
  • Water taps outside  people must supply their own hoses to fill their tanks.
  • Day use areas in both campgrounds will remain closed until further notice and also day fishing at Black Nugget lake will remain closed.

The health and safety of our residents, visitors, staff, and contractors is our top priority. These measures are in line with Provincial recommendations to practice physical distancing.

The complete rules and regulations for the campgrounds are still being developed by the Province and will be posted as soon as they are released, which will impact County campgrounds also.

Reservation/Cancellation/Refund Policy

To provide for better management and visitor satisfaction Beaver County has implemented a policy for Reservations, Cancellations and Refunds.

The policy provides restrictions on over booking and last minute cancellations resulting in more  sites being available for  other campers. The policy also ensures that the reservation holder is responsible for the actions of all-party members. Refunds will not be given for an eviction, vacating a campsite early, or  for inclement weather.

The policy is based on practices which have been used in the past, and is based mainly on the refund policy established for Alberta Provincial Parks campgrounds.
