FIRE ADVISORY

Posted on

Effective immediately, the Beaver County Region, including the towns, villages, and hamlets, are under a FIRE ADVISORY.

There is an increased risk of wildfire due to dry conditions and prolonged high temperatures.

Fire permits are still being issued by Beaver Emergency Services Commission for open burning.  Residents can continue to burn if they have a fire permit or use certified heating and cooking appliances such as charcoal, propane, or natural gas BBQs.

Campfires with screens and APPROVED burn barrels are still allowed without a permit.

Fireworks are only permitted with an APPROVED permit and providing extreme caution is used in accordance with all laws and conditions.

Fire officials will continue to monitor conditions, and a fire restriction or ban could be issued without further notice.  Go to www.besc.ca or albertafirebans.ca for updates.
