RMA District 5 Meeting

Reeve Kevin Smook, Deputy Reeve Gene Hrabec, Councillors Bruce and Pederson, accompanied by CAO Kay Spiess, headed north last week. They visited the RM of Wood Buffalo to participate in the RMA District 5 semi-annual meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Reeve Hrabec. District 5, a collective of 13 counties, municipal districts, and 2 specialized municipalities, primarily situated to the east of Edmonton, forms a crucial part of the Rural Municipalities of Alberta.

These meetings hold significant value as they foster discussions on shared concerns, potential solutions are explored, often leading to the formulation of resolutions. These resolutions, once presented at a subsequent RMA conference, serve as channels to advocate for change and progress in the province.
